Rules

Recently Updated!  Last Updated:  Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 6:35:53 AM

1. Objective
Accumulate points each week by answering questions relating to the Survival of Survivor 24 - One World contestants.  At the end of the Final Tribal Council, the player in your Tribe with the most accumulated points WINS Fantasy Survivor.

2. Game Play
Each week you will be responsible making picks in five (5) categories based on predictable happenings on the show. Additionally, at the beginning of the season, you will select a "Most Valuable Player" which is the Survivor you think will last the longest and slot the most categories.

2.1 - ENTERING PICKS
You will be responsible for entering picks for each of five (5) categories. These picks are due NO LATER THAN five (5) minutes prior to the start of the show in the Eastern Timezone. Traditionally, this has been on Thursday evenings at 8:00 PM ET (5:00 PM PT). Picks open up at 5:00 AM ET (2:00 AM PT) the following day after the end of each episode. Thus, you have up to a week at a time to enter your weekly picks.

2.1.1 - ENTERING PICKS - FINALE
Typically, the season finale of Survivor comprised three (3) Tribal councils. In this instance, if more than one "Episode" happens on the same date, you will be required to enter picks for EACH episode.

2.2 - "MOST VALUABLE PLAYER" SELECTION
New Rule This Season!  When making your picks, you are required to make a "Most Valuable Player" selection. Your selection will allow you to receive "MVP Bonus Points" for that Episode. When selecting a "Most Valuable Player" selection, your points increase each Episode that your selection remains the same. The "Most Valuable Player" point value is 10 points times the number of Episodes in a row that the selection has been made. Thus, when you make a different "Most Valuable Player" selection than the prior Episode, then the point value will be reset back to 10 points for each category that the selected player slots.

2.3 - WEEKLY PICK REMINDERS
You are ultimately responsible for entering your picks on time. Weekly email reminders will be sent to you by the Fantasy Survivor TribeMaster, but it is your responsibility for entering your own picks.

If you are having difficulties entering your picks, you can contact your Tribal Commissioner and they can enter them for you.

2.4 - PICK CATEGORIES
The following are the five (5) categories that are to be considered when making your picks for each Episode...

1. Reward: Which Survivor will win or help participate in winning the Reward Challenge, if any.
2. Immunity: Which Survivor will win or help participate in winning the Immunity Challenge, if any.
3. Voted Off: Which Survivor will be voted out of their Tribe (or leave the show).
4. Safe: Which Survivor will NOT be voted out of their Tribe (or leave the show) during an episode.
5. Mystery Question

The Mystery Question will be a different question each week. The answer to this question will relate to none, one or more than one of the remaining Survivors. Additionally, Mystery Question answers do NOT include activities that occur during either the Reward or Immunity Challenges.

Each category will correspond to none, one or more than one of the remaining Survivors on the show. If you do not enter your guesses for a given week, you will forfeit any Category Points for that week. It is possible that NO Survivors will slot a category during a given episode.

Each season a Survivor Auction usually takes place where the players bid on items. Survivor Auctions will be considered Reward Challenges. Points will be given to those players who are shown successfully winning an auction. If more than one person combine funds to win an auction, they both will receive points, as long as each of the players share in the reward, otherwise, players that don't share in the reward will not receive points. Only Auctions shown on the on-air broadcast of the television show will be considered eligible for points.

Players who do not win a Reward challenge but are chosen to share in the Reward will NOT receive Reward Challenge points. For Reward Challenges that are team-based, all members of that team will receive points for a Reward Challenge win. For Reward Challenges that are Tribe based, all members of that Tribe will receive points for a Reward Challenge win, even those members that may have to sit out the challenge for the purposes of balancing the teams. For Individual Reward Challenges, only the first-place winner will be eligible to receive points unless otherwise noted on the show.

Immunity points will only be granted to players that participate in and win an Immunity Challenge. Immunity garnered by any other means will not be scored for points. For Immunity Challenges that are Tribe based, all members of that Tribe will receive points for an Immunity Challenge win, even those members that may have to sit out the challenge for the purposes of balancing the teams. For Individual Immunity Challenges, only the first-place winner will be eligible to receive points unless otherwise noted on the show.

The on-air broadcast of the television show will be the only evidence of record for scoring decisions. Items on web sites, commercial spots, etc. will not be considered when making scoring decisions or judgement calls.

Activities broadcast during the "Previously on...Survivor" segment will not be scored for points. Additionally, activities broadcast during the "Next time on...Survivor" segment will also not be scored for points.

2.4.1 - "NO PICK"
If you feel that no Survivor will slot a particular category, then you have the option of choosing "No Pick". If you select No Pick for a category and no Survivor slots that category, you will be awarded the appropriate points. The No Pick selection is NOT applicable to the Safe category. There is no limit the number of times that you can use the No Pick selection during the season.

2.5 - "SAFE" PICKS
For the "Safe" category, up to Episode 6, you may only pick the same Survivor ONCE. After Episode 6, your safe picks are reset. From then on, you may only pick the same Survivor ONCE for the rest of the Season.

There may be a point where you may not be able to make a "Safe" pick due to previous selections and natural elimination of the Survivors each week. In this event, you will not receive any points for this category.

2.6 - MAKING PICKS FOR THE FINALE
The Season Finale of Survivor normally consists of a 2-hour program in which 2 Tribal Councils will occur to determine the final 2 Survivors.

In the past, the WINNER of Survivor is revealed on the Reunion show. Typically, the Jury votes for who they think should be crowned the Ultimate Survivor.

How does this relate to Fantasy Survivor?
For the Finale, you will be making picks for THREE (3) CONSECUTIVE TRIBAL COUNCILS. These will be denoted as "Episode 14", "Episode 15", and "Episode 16". Note that ALL THREE Episode Picks must be entered by the Picks deadline.

2.6.1 - QUESTIONS FOR FINAL TRIBAL COUNCIL
For the final "Tribal Council" or "Episode", for Immunity, you will be selecting the person you think the Jury will vote for Ultimate Survivor. The "Voted Off" pick will be the person who DOESN'T win Ultimate Survivor.

The following are the five (5) categories that are to be considered when making your picks for the FINAL Tribal Council...

1. Reward: Which Survivor will win or help participate in winning the Reward CHALLENGE, if any.
2. Immunity: Which Survivor will be declared the WINNER of Survivor.
3. Voted Off: Which Survivor will NOT be declared the winner of Survivor.
4. Safe: Which Survivor will be declared the WINNER of Survivor.
5. Mystery Question: Which Survivor will be declared the WINNER of Survivor.
2.7 - TIMEZONES
All posted deadlines and times such as Early Pick Deadline, Picks Deadline, etc. are based on the Eastern Timezone

3. Accumulating Points
Points will be awarded based on weekly votes. Each week you will be asked to vote on five (5) different categories. Each category will be worth a point value. For each category that you pick correctly, you will win the points for that week.

3.1 - CATEGORY POINTS
The following are the point values for each of the five (5) categories...

1. Reward Challenge: 50 points before merger, 100 points after
2. Immunity: 50 points before merger, 100 points after
3. Voted Off: 100 points
4. Safe: 10 points x Episode Number
5. Mystery Question: 100 points before merger, 200 points after

3.2 - PERFECT PICK BONUS POINTS
Bonus points will be awarded if ALL of the questions for a given episode are answered correctly.

One hundred (100) Bonus Points will be awarded before the merger of the Tribes. Two hundred (200) Bonus Points will be awarded after the merger.

It is possible that NO Survivors will slot a category during a given episode.  In that instance, the only way you can receive points for that category is if you chose No Pick for your selection.

3.3 - "MOST VALUABLE PLAYER" BONUS POINTS
New Rule This Season!  Points will be awarded (10 points x Number of Episodes the "MVP" Pick remains the same) if your selection for "Most Valuable Player" wins in Categories 1, 2, 3 or 5 above. You will be awarded these points for EACH category your selection for "Most Valuable Player" slots.

No points are awarded for the Safe category until the Final Episode. For the final episode, if your selection for Most Valuable Player wins the title of Ultimate Survivor, you will receive a the normal "Most Valuable Player" point value that applies to the other categories (10 points x Number of Episodes the "MVP" Pick remains the same).

The MVP Bonus can be controlled by the Tribal Commissioners. A commissioner can elect NOT to participate in the MVP Bonus point system. To accommodate Player and Tribe Rankings, lists can be displayed based on the use of this Bonus system.

3.4 - EARLY PICK BONUS POINTS
The "Early Pick Bonus Points" feature helps reward those players who enter their picks early without the benefit of clues from web sites or commercial spots.

Each episode will have an "Early Pick Cutoff Date". Traditionally, this occurs at 3:00 PM ET three (3) days before an episode airs, with the exception of the Premiere Episode and the FINALE. However, the OFFICIAL Early Pick Cutoff Date will always be displayed on the "Enter My Picks" page and on the "My Picks" tab of the Player Home Page.

If you enter your picks BEFORE this date, you will be eligible to receive a 50% Bonus on any points you earned for that particular episode. Thus, if your Total Points equaled 500, you would receive an "Early Pick Bonus" of 250 points. Alternatively, if you received 0 points, your "Early Pick Bonus" would ALSO be 0.

If you entered your picks BEFORE the "Early Pick Cutoff Date" but then proceed to CHANGE your picks after that date, you will no longer be eligible to receive the "Early Pick Bonus".

The Early Pick Bonus can be controlled by the Tribal Commissioners. A commissioner can elect NOT to participate in the Early Pick Bonus point system. To accommodate Player and Tribe Rankings, lists can be displayed based on the use of this Bonus system.

3.5 - MISCELLANEOUS
Points are awarded on an INDIVIDUAL basis. Even though at certain points in the game, an entire Tribe will win a category, it is important to know that points are NOT awarded to Tribes.

Points will be awarded every episode in which a Survivor departs the show, no matter the means by which they depart (voted off and no longer part of the game, carried off, emergency, etc.). This means "Voted Off" picks and "Safe" picks will be tabulated even if the Survivor was not literally "voted off". Reward and Immunity picks will only be tabulated if they are still relevant (e.g., a reward challenge is still held).

The rules of Survivor allow individual immunity winners to give away immunity to another tribe member. For the purposes of Fantasy Survivor scoring, Immunity Points will ONLY be given for correctly selecting a player that WINS Immunity via Immunity Challenge. NO POINTS will be given to the person that he/she subsequently gives it away to.

A Tribal Merger is considered complete when all of the remaining Survivors are merged into ONE Tribe and Survivors begin to compete for Individual Rewards and Immunity. If Tribes are reshuffled, etc., this will not be considered a Tribal Merger.

4. Commissioner
The name of the Commissioner for your Tribe will be located on your Tribal Home Page.

All decisions will be made by the Commissioner and are considered final.

5. Cost
The cost for each entry in Fantasy Survivor is up to the individual Tribal Commissioner. Information on the costs of playing Fantasy Survivor in your individual Tribe will be located on the Home Page of your Tribe.

There are no limits to the number of entries you can have in an Individual Tribe or across multiple Tribes.

6. Tiebreakers
In the event of a tie, the following tie breakers will be used in order as necessary:

1. Number of correctly guessed Mystery Questions
2. Number of Perfect Picks
3. Longevity of Most Valuable Player
4. Coin Flip

7. Disputes
All disputes relating to scoring decisions will be resolved by the Fantasy Survivor Tribemaster and these judgements will be deemed final and binding.
